Union Environment Minister launched the Gharial Species Conservation Programme at Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, releasing seven gharials into the Gerua River. The initiative includes community-based conservation, 25–30 expert suggestions on reducing human–wildlife conflict, and support for local patrol force and CSR-driven efforts .It will advance India’s biodiversity goals.
