According to the WMO’s State of Climate in Asia 2024 report (June 23, 2025), Asia’s average temperature was 1.04 °C higher than its 1991–2020 average, warming at nearly twice the global rate. Sea surface temperatures and marine heatwaves hit record highs, glaciers suffered mass loss, and extreme weather killed thousands across the continent.
